Collect, calculate, document and send product-level embedded emissions data to your customer — without getting lost between Excel files.
Is your product in CBAM scope?Check the scope →The CBAM declaration is submitted by the importer or authorised CBAM declarant in the EU. HeroCBAM helps producers outside the EU prepare the emissions data they provide to their customers.

When your EU importer prepares its CBAM declaration, it needs embedded emissions information for each product. Data it may ask you for:
The hard part isn't calculating a single number. It's making sure the data behind that number is organised, traceable and ready to share.
If your customer cannot get actual data from you, it uses the default values published by the EU. A mark-up that rises each year is added to these values: 10% for 2026, 1% for fertilisers. No mark-up applies to electricity.

For emissions declared with default values, the carbon price actually paid in the country of origin cannot be deducted; only the default carbon price to be published by the Commission can be deducted.

Your importer submits the CBAM declaration for 2026 by 30 September 2027. In later years the deadline is also 30 September each year. Your data needs to reach your customer before that date.

“Hello, for our 2026 CBAM declaration we need the embedded emissions data of the products you ship to us. Could you share the values per product and installation, with supporting documents?”
Example: from a buyer in the EU
Production spreadsheets, energy invoices, supplier emails, records from different installations.
Product, installation and supplier data in one place. You can see whether actual data or a default value is used for each product; gaps are listed.
Draft PDF (with a list of open points), operator data package (Excel) and, depending on your plan, XML (ZIP).
The package is a reference/draft output; it is not an official CBAM declaration.
Enter your products, installations and production quantities. Bulk-import your existing Excel data with a template. Collect precursor data from your suppliers through the portal; your supplier does not need an account.
See embedded emissions per product and installation. The value you entered and the value calculated after sector adjustments are shown separately.
Link your verification report to the relevant record. Critical actions are recorded in an audit trail.
See the gaps in the readiness check, then download the draft PDF, the operator data package and, depending on your plan, the XML (ZIP).
Pass the package to your EU customer. If your customer uses HeroCBAM, it can invite you as a supplier and collect the data directly from you.
Enter your product's CN code and annual shipments to the EU; see the estimated cost your customer faces if it uses default values.
Inside the platform you see the same comparison with your own actual data, per product.
Some goods made from CBAM materials (for example fasteners or steel structures) may also be in scope depending on their CN code. Check your product below.
Select your CN code and answer a few questions; see whether your product is in scope and what your customer may ask you for.
CBAM product groups: Iron & steel, Aluminium, Cement, Fertilisers, Hydrogen, Electricity
Register each product with its CN code. A category that doesn't match the CN code cannot be saved, so default values aren't calculated with the wrong category.
Link data to the installation where the product is made, so the answer is ready when your customer asks per installation.
See the value you entered next to the value calculated after sector adjustments.
For each product, compare your importer's estimated cost with default values and with your actual data, including a 2034 projection.
Invite your precursor suppliers and collect their data through the portal. On the Starter plan: 10 supplier records, concurrent data invites to up to 3.
Bulk-import your production and emissions data with a template.
Before you create a draft, the readiness check lists what is missing and what you need to do.
Draft PDF (with a list of open points), operator data package and, depending on your plan, XML (ZIP).
Attach your verification report to the relevant emission record. The platform does not confirm the verifier.

The EU buyers of your exporter clients are asking for emissions data. Prepare CBAM data for all your clients from one panel: completion and risk per client, drafts and data packages on the client's behalf, a shared assistant quota.
CBAM penalties (Regulation 2023/956 Art. 26) apply to the declarant in the EU. For you, the real risk is not being able to meet your customer's data request on time and with documentation. See in 7 questions where your data has gaps. Free, no registration.
